The Delta Queen Steamboat began operating in 1927 in California. The Greene Line Steamers purchased the ship in 1946. In 1958 Richard C. Simonton, Edwin Quinby and Jack Quinby purchased controlling interest of the Delta Queen, but the Greene Line continued to operate the ship.
